Welcome to Jambin State School!
As Principal, I am incredibly proud to lead our small but vibrant school community. Located in the heart of rural Queensland, Jambin State School is more than just a school - it's a connected, caring community where students feel supported, valued, and inspired to grow.
We have strong ties to our local area and neighbouring small schools through the Callide Valley Small Schools Cluster, which gives our students access to opportunities like Canberra Camp, Wellbeing Days, and Small Schools Sports Day - experiences they may not otherwise have due to our size. These connections also support a smooth transition to high school, as our students already know many of their peers across the region.
At Jambin, our core values are simple and strong.
BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE SAFE.
These values guide everything we do, alongside our school motto:
"Rise to the Challenge."
Our vision is for every student to become a confident, curious, and capable learner - someone who can think critically, solve problems, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them. A strong focus on reading and mathematics helps build the foundations for lifelong learning. We believe that reading has the power to change lives, and developing skills in problem-solving and reasoning sets our students up to thrive in a world that is constantly changing.
With small class sizes and a dedicated team, we're able to tailor learning to each child's needs. Our supportive environment means students are known, cared for, and given the tools they need to succeed - both academically and personally.
We're also fortunate to have a wonderfully supportive parent and community network. Whether it's fundraising through the P&C, helping at local events, or cheering the kids on at sports days, our families are always there.
One of our recent achievements we're especially proud of is the new covered multipurpose court, which now provides a shaded, all-weather space for sport, play, and school events.
Above all, I'm proud of our students - they show up each day with enthusiasm and pride, ready to learn and support one another. They truly embody the spirit of our school. It's a privilege to be part of a school community where every child is known, supported, and encouraged to thrive - both in the classroom and beyond.
